ESXi: create VM ( Server manager, Contrail, ...)

1- upload image

1- If on the vCenter: select the Hypervisor (ESXi server)

2- If on the vCenter: Configuration Tab >> select "stigae"

3- select the datastore ( datastore1) >> right click >> Browse Datastore

4- Create a Directory >> "upload" to that dir the ISO file.


2- create an group port ( vlan-id= 1117  ) attach to vswitch0

Group ports within a port group share common configurations such as VLAN settings, security policies, and traffic shaping parameters.

3- create an VM   ( gp= data plane, dvd= iso file )

5x VM  ( Ubuntu 14.0 LTS )

Contrail VM:           16GB RAM, 4 vCPU, 40GB HDD

OpenStack:            16GB RAM, 4 vCPU, 40GB HDD

Server manager:     4GB RAM, 1 vCPU, 20GB HDD

Compute VM:         >=4GB RAM, >=1 vCPU, >=20GB HDD
